ACLAS Holds Skills Acquisition Programe for Aclasites
The Association of Communication and Language Arts Students (ACLAS), University of Ibadan, on Wednesday held a skills acquisition programme for its students as part of activities lined up for the departmental week.
The training, which began at 9:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Arts featured four core sessions: audio editing, graphics design, photography, and portfolio/CV development. Each session was facilitated by industry professionals invited to equip students with practical, employable skills.
Audio editing was handled by Seyi Olawole, while graphics design was taught by Olanrewaju. Photography and portfolio/CV building were facilitated by Kolawole Akintomiwa and Mr. Ayoade Omolola respectively. Omolola, who serves as Strategy and Intelligence Lead at X3M Ideas, spoke on building competitive portfolios for the modern labour market.
A lecturer in the department, Dr. Yinka Egbokare, was also present to monitor the sessions. The programme ended with students expressing satisfaction as they received hands-on guidance designed to prepare them for industry demands even before graduation.
